Anthurium besseae aff has beautiful, dark and velvety leaves, which makes its sparkly leaf veins particularly striking. New leaves first unfold in dark red and subsequently develop the dark green color, while the back of the leaves retain a slightly reddish color.

It is possible that what is known as Anthurium bessae aff is actually Anthurium sp. nov Darien, which is a yet undescribed species from premontane forests in the Darién Province of Panama. Whatever we're calling it, this species is a gorgeous velvety leaved anthurium species with beautiful veining and amazing color.

Higher humidity preferred. Medium - bright gentle light. Fertilize regularly with high nitrogen fertilizer and supplement with calmag and other micronutrients for best results. Never allow growing media to dry completely, but also never let your anthurium sit in water. Humid, aerated roots is the goal.
