Begonia 'Old Blue' is a new hybrid that has just been introduced. This rhizomatous type is a cross of B. U489 and B. sizemoreae. It has large oval shaped leaves that are sparsely covered with long white hairs. The leaf blade is a gray color with a silver band around the leaf. Under certain light conditions the gray in the leaf has a bluish iridescence. The back of the leaf is red. It blooms most of the year with graceful blush pink flowers. This is a fast grower and will make a large specimen. It has a large mounding growth habit.

Weirdly, this begonia is mostly green and burgundy colored, not blue.

Shade to partial shade, temp. 45 to 95 degrees, 12 to 15 in. tall, allow getting fairly dry between waterings.
