Senecio scaposusrequires gritty and sandy soil that drains off quickly. The soil should be allowed to dry and drench in between watering. Make sure that the ideal soil should contain coarse sand and cactus potting soil. Senecio scaposus is hardy in zones 9b to 11b, with a frost tolerance of -5° C (23° F).
