This is it, folks: my number 1 most commented on, photographed, and asked about plant in my home is the easy to grow and pet-safe Maranta 'Lemon Lime.' This plant has two important requests: 1) don't burn it with sun and 2) try to use room temperature water, and preferably even distilled water. If you can do 1 and maybe even 1 + 2 you will be rewarded with a low maintanence masterpiece!

Got this as a Xmas present for a family member but it was so happy in my kitchen, I just had to keep it. So happy, in fact, that I had to repot this 4" up to a 6" in less than a year! Hasn't stopped sending out new leaves since I brought it home (even in the colder winter) and is already shooting out new rhizomes after repotting only a month ago. Adorable pink blooms in the Spring. Super easy care once you find it's light happy spot. And I love how pronounced & graphic the pattern is on the leaves of the Lemon Lime variety! Highly recommend.
