A unique caudex plant not often seen in collections. Purple leaves arch gracefully out of a swollen "trunk" or caudex, creating a plant that looks a bit like a miniature tree. Unlike a tree, at night the leaves fold up like a prayer plant.

In the winter Phyllanthus mirabilis may drop its leaves - this is completely normal and should be no cause for alarm. Water infrequently during this period, and then increase watering and fertilizing when new leaves sprout again in the warmer periods of the year.

This is the perfect plant for someone who likes unique tropical plants but wants something drought tolerant / lower maintenance. Provide with plenty of bright but not scorching light.
