This is no typical ficus—the absolutely stunning Ficus shivereana is a scene-stealing new hybrid of Ficus elastica, or Rubber Tree. It has bright lime green leaves with dark green freckles, and its new growth can be pink. While Ficus shivereana care overall is the same as other Ficus Elastica types, due to the high amount of variegation, it can be more sensitive to settling in a new place or being neglected.
Position your Ficus shivereana in gentle, bright light, but away from direct afternoon sun (morning sun is good) and away from cold drafts. Fertilize with a 3-1-2 high nitrogen fertilizer.
