Pinguicula laueana is the only butterwort plant with red flowers! Truly a sight to behold. They have dewey oval leaves that spark and blush light pink. They usually grow to about 2-4" accross. They are often hybridized with other pings to create hybrids with their desirable traits. This is the first time we've had P. laueana available for purchase in our shop!
These pings will be available to take home mid February! We can also ship them bare root.
Pinguicula care:
Provide plenty of bright light. A sunny windowsill is great. Under grow lights is fantastic.
Keep pinguiculas in a tray or saucer full of water at all times, about 1 inch deep. If you live in San Francisco or the East Bay you can use tap water. Everywhere else, consider using distilled water.
Fertilizing is not necessary. Pinguicula will catch gnats and get its nutrients that way! If fertilizing is desired, use a very diluted, low nitrogen foliar spray.
