Sensitive Plant (Mimosa pudica) responds to touch and other stimulation by rapidly closing its leaves and drooping. Native to South and Central America, the plant is a widespread weed in tropical regions and has naturalized elsewhere in warm areas. It is commonly grown as a curiosity in greenhouses.
Sensitive plants are not shade-tolerant plants and want high light indoors. Place the plant directly in front or beside a bright sunny window. If the leaflets remain closed during the day, it indicates that the plant is not receiving enough light.
