Hoya endauensis was discovered in 1985 and published by Dr. Ruth Kiew a Malaysian botanist in 1989. Dr. Kiew is a renown plant scientist primarily specializing in begonias and African violets. The plant was found on the river banks of the Ulu Endau River in Johor, Malaysia. It grew in the shade and is considered to be very rare and endangered in its native habitat. It was named for the river in which it was found. (Info via Vermont Hoyas)

This unique Hoya features thick, oval-shaped ripply leaves that are dark green and often exhibit a beautiful sheen. It's known for its potential to produce clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers, making it a stunning addition to any plant collection.

This Hoya prefers warm temperatures and higher humidity. It wants plenty of light, but doesn't want to be scorched by super hot direct sun. Under grow lights in a cabinet is a great way to grow this plant.
