One of my absolute favorite Alocasias, this plant has a remarkable amount of presence. Its bright contrasting veining makes a dramatic feature on the dark green, velvety leaves. Alocasia 'Frydeks" want to be kept warm, with higher than average humidity and plenty of bright, gentle light. Careful not to overwater, as Alocasias are prone to rot.

A few months ago, I got a variegated frydek and while it was stunning, I found that there is also non-variegated version, which literally stole my heart, but I couldn't find it in my local stores. I bit the bullet and ordered it with shipping from Plant Lady SF and my package came very quickly (even though I live in Chicago)! All plants in my order were packaged very neatly and did not withstand too much damage. Since I've had this plant (which is 3.5 weeks now) it has pushed out 2 new leaves and none of the old leaves have yellowed or died (which is impressie for any alocasia)! So overall I would definitely order this plant again from Plant Lady SF and would certainly recommend it to anyone else who is wondering whether it's good for them.
Ordered this from NY and was a little worried about transport across the country. The plant arrived perfectly without a single piece of soil out of place!! I’ve only had it for a little over a week and it’s already sprouting a new leaf. Highly recommend!
