Aloe vera may be familiar, but familiarity should not be confused with botanical insignificance. It is an ancient cultivated succulent with a handsome mature form, a long relationship with people, and more ornamental potential than its utilitarian reputation suggests. Use it to treat a sunburn, moisturize your skin, or simply enjoy it's beautiful growth pattern.
Give bright light, although be aware that Aloe vera is surprisingly tolerant of medium light as well and in very bright light will turn a pink purple color that some people find less appealing than it's blue-green form. Water thoroughly and then allow to dry completely. Can be grown indoors, preferably on a sunny windowsill, or outdoors, preferably in part shade.
