Give ‘Don Miller’ bright, gentle light or filtered morning sun to maintain compact growth, strong silver coloration, and consistent flowering. Brighter conditions may deepen its normally pink flowers toward rosy red, but intense afternoon sun can scorch the foliage.

Allow the upper portion of the potting mix to become slightly dry before watering, then water thoroughly and let the excess drain. Use a loose, moisture-retentive but well-aerated mix and a pot with drainage. Average Bay Area household humidity is generally sufficient, although the plant benefits from supplemental humidity in warmer, drier inland homes. Good air circulation and keeping the foliage dry overnight help prevent fungal spotting.

This hybrid branches readily and can be pinched or lightly pruned to maintain a dense, shrub-like form. It typically reaches approximately two feet without support but may grow three to four feet tall when staked. Pink flower clusters can appear repeatedly from spring through fall under favorable conditions. Like other true Begonias, it contains soluble calcium oxalates and is toxic if ingested, with the highest concentration generally found in the underground portions. Keep it away from pets and children.
