Epiphyllum anguilger (Fishbone Cactus)

Epiphyllum anguliger (Fishbone Cactus)—also known as the zigzag cactus—is an epiphytic cactus native to the rainforests of Mexico, grown for its flat, deeply lobed stems that resemble a fish skeleton. Unlike desert cacti, it prefers bright gentle light, moderate watering, and higher humidity. It produces large, fragrant, night-blooming flowers that are creamy white to pale yellow, often in late fall.

It’s a relatively easy, fast-growing houseplant that looks especially striking in hanging planters, where its cascading stems can really show off their unique shape.
