Monstera White Monster is a striking, highly variegated selection of Monstera deliciosa known for its extreme white patterning and large, mature fenestrated leaves. While the variegation pattern can vary from plant to plant, many feature broad swaths of creamy white or pure snow-white across leaves and stems—sometimes entire leaves emerge ghostly white. The contrast between the deep green and clean white makes this plant instantly eye-catching and a favorite among serious aroid collectors.

Like other variegated Monsteras, White Monster grows best in bright, gentle light—enough to support healthy variegation without risking sunburn on its more sensitive white tissue. It prefers a chunky, airy aroid mix that drains well and stays lightly moist, and it will climb readily if given a moss pole or support. Humidity and warmth help it thrive, and gentle, consistent care will support steady growth and strong variegation.

Because the white portions of the leaf lack chlorophyll, this plant grows more slowly and requires more attention than a standard green Monstera deliciosa. It’s best suited to growers who enjoy monitoring their plants and providing stable, bright conditions.

Care at a Glance

  • Light: Lots and lots of gentle bright light; avoid overly hot searing direct sun on white leaves. Under grow lights or in an Eastern window is ideal.

  • Water: Allow to dry completely between waterings; do not overwater

  • Soil: Chunky, well-draining aroid mix (orchid bark, perlite, coir, etc.)

  • Humidity: 60%+ preferred for optimal growth

  • Growth Habit: Climbing vine with large, fenestrated leaves

  • Fertilizer: Monthly during the growing season with a balanced, diluted fertilizer
