Philodendron hastatum ‘Silver Sword’ Variegated

Philodendron hastatum ‘Silver Sword’ is already a celebrated aroid for it's gorgeous, silvery sheen, and now it gets another color upgrade. For collectors who want more than standard green-and-white variegation, Variegated Philodendron hastatum ‘Silver Sword’ offers an extraordinary palette of silver, pewter, mint, and cream. Its climbing growth produces increasingly dramatic sword-shaped leaves, while every new leaf reveals a different distribution of color.

Easy to care for and very happy growing on a pole (pole included in 6" plant).  

Give it plenty of bright, gentle light. Variegated Silver Sword needs more light than the non-variegated form because its cream and mint-colored tissue contains less chlorophyll. 

Aim for consistent moisture without keeping the roots constantly wet. In other words, water lightly when the first inch or two of the media are dry. 

Use an airy, fast-draining aroid mix that still retains some moisture. A combination of potting soil, fine orchid bark, and perlite or pumice works well.

This is a climbing Philodendron, and support is essential if you want it to reach its full potential.
