The Piper crocatum offers stunning heart-shaped leaves. The pink veins and pattern paired with the silvery-green make it a very unusual climbing houseplant. It prefers warmer temperatures and higher than average humidity. Interestingly, Piper crocatum is commonly used in Indonesia as a medicinal plant, and has been known to exhibit antioxidant, anti-inflammatory activities.
Although common in Indonesia and other countries such as India, this plant is rarely offered in the United States, and has become quite sought after!
